Community & Arts

Over the years the team at Bennetts Steel have been involved in numerous community projects through sponsorship and manufacturing of specific items.

Most recently we have been working alongside Port Macquarie Hastings Council and the Place Making Team to help create a range of public outdoor steel sculptures throughout Wauchope, Port Macquarie and the Camden Haven.

And its not all big heavy structural pieces that we work with. In August 2016 we partnered with Touchwood Flowers to create the elegant center pieces for the local Business Awards. So a little creativity and a lot of know how has seen us work on a massive variety of community initiatives.

We are really proud to partner with a number of community groups including:

  • PMHC – Together As One Aboriginal Sculpture
  • PMHC – Planter boxes for the Wauchope main street
  • Wauchope TAFE and PMHC – replacement of the Cowarra Dam Totem Poles
  • PMHC – Laurieton main street beautification works
  • Beach 2 Beach community group – Camden Haven decorative pieces
  • PMHC – Goal Point beautification works Port Macquarie
  • Kendall Heritage Society – Bullock team sculpture
  • 2016 Holiday Coast Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards Table Decorations
  • Rebuild Pappinbarra – Donated Goods & Services
  • Artist Blacksmiths Association – YPress Poppies

Its an amazing feeling to be part of a project for the entire process. In the following photos you will see that we were there for the very first ideas over a cup of coffee through to the cardboard cutout templates to gain an idea of size through to the production & instillation.

We were recently involved in the creation of some stencils that were used by local sandblaster Clint Arnold of Mid Coast Abrasive Blasting to create a really unique pattern into the new platform at Goal Point Port Macquarie.

The final result was beyond our expectations & looks absolutely amazing. We can’t wait to see the entire area completed over the coming months and say a big Congratulations to everyone involved with the beautification of this area, in particular Port Macquarie Hastings Council, Port Macquarie Lions Club and Tacking Point Lions Club. It truly has been the results of a community working together.
